Infrastructure Backups & Data Protection

We design backup systems that protect your servers, virtual machines and Microsoft 365 data against ransomware, hardware failure and accidental deletion — and we prove they work with regular restore tests.

Based in Trevose, PA — serving Philadelphia, Bucks County, Montgomery County, Delaware County and Chester County on-site, and businesses across the United States remotely.

What you get

  • Ransomware resilience

Immutable and offline copies that attackers can't encrypt or delete, even with administrator credentials.

  • Restores that work

Scheduled restore tests confirm your backups are complete and usable — not just that a job reported success.

  • Offsite protection

Copies stored away from your main site, in Azure or a second location, so one incident can't destroy everything.

  • Clear retention

Retention policies that meet your business, legal and insurance requirements without paying to keep data forever.

Backups are only as good as your last successful restore

Most businesses have backups. Far fewer have backups that would survive a ransomware attack, include every system that matters, and have been restored successfully in the last few months. That gap is usually discovered at the worst possible moment.

We design, implement and test backup systems for small and mid-sized businesses in Philadelphia and across the US, so you know exactly what’s protected and how quickly it can be recovered.

What we protect

Servers and virtual machines

Image-level backups of Hyper-V and VMware virtual machines and physical servers, with application-aware protection for databases and Active Directory so restores are consistent.

Microsoft 365

Independent backups of Exchange Online mailboxes, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams, separate from Microsoft’s own retention, so deleted or encrypted data can be recovered to a point in time.

Files and critical data

File servers, NAS devices and line-of-business application data, protected with versioning and retention aligned to your business and legal needs.

How we build resilience

Immutable and offsite copies

At least one copy of your backups is stored where it can’t be altered or deleted — immutable cloud storage such as Azure, hardened repositories or offline media — and away from your main site.

Separation and access control

Backup systems use separate credentials, multi-factor authentication and restricted network access, so a compromise of your main environment doesn’t automatically reach your backups.

Monitoring and restore testing

Failed jobs raise alerts, and scheduled restore tests verify that data can actually be recovered. You receive a written report of each test.

Who this service is for

  • Businesses unsure whether their backups would survive ransomware
  • Organizations whose backups have never been restore-tested
  • Companies relying solely on Microsoft 365’s built-in retention
  • Teams completing a cyber insurance application that asks about backups

Our approach

  1. Assess

We review what's backed up today, what isn't, how long restores take and where the copies live.

  2. Design

We define what to protect, how often, for how long and where — including immutable and offsite copies.

  3. Implement

Backup jobs, storage and alerting are configured and the first full backups verified.

  4. Test & report

We perform restore tests and document the results, then repeat them on a regular schedule.

Frequently asked questions

What is the 3-2-1 backup rule?
Keep at least three copies of your data, on two different types of storage, with one copy offsite. Many organizations now extend it to 3-2-1-1-0: one copy offline or immutable, and zero errors in verified restore tests.
What makes a backup ransomware-resistant?
Ransomware often targets backups first. Immutable storage — where backup data can’t be changed or deleted until its retention period ends — and offline copies keep a clean version out of an attacker’s reach. Separate credentials for the backup system and multi-factor authentication add further protection.
Doesn't Microsoft back up our Microsoft 365 data?
Microsoft keeps the service running and offers limited retention and recycle-bin features, but protecting your data against deletion, ransomware or a departing employee is largely your responsibility. A dedicated Microsoft 365 backup gives you independent, point-in-time copies of mailboxes, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams.
How often should we test restores?
We recommend restore tests at least quarterly, with critical systems tested more often, plus a test after any significant change. A backup that has never been restored is an assumption, not a guarantee.
How is this different from disaster recovery?
Backups protect your data; disaster recovery restores whole services within an agreed time. They work together — our high availability and disaster recovery service builds on a solid backup foundation.
